Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home using a combined gross household income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined household income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and nsfas login permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET click here colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait read more for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
